So two weeks ago, my original plan for getting this large latched hook rug complete ran into a tangle.
I had originally purchased all the necessary colors, and enough bags of those colors, to supposedly complete this rug without complications. However … the best laid schemes of mice and men, you know …
And sure enough, I ran short of some colors.
Which meant I had to order a few more batches from Herrschner’s.
Trust me – I think Herrischner’s is a great company. They truly are. It’s the kind of customer service most hobby supply companies dream of.
However … they have this one quirk that drives me up the wall.
Their shipping. Everything is shipped in one speed. No FedEx, no overnight, none of that. You order anything, whether it’s a small order or a large one, and you can expect it to arrive A WEEK AFTER YOU’VE ORDERED IT.
Okay, maybe I’ve been spoiled by Amazon Prime and all the other companies, but man … when I run out of a color on a project, the last thing I want to do is STOP WORKING ON THE PROJECT.
Well … true to form, the rest of the yarn arrived. And I’m back to hooking away, hooking away …
This is where I was two weeks ago, before the interruption.

And now … after getting resupplied …
Look where we are.

You can now see the full covered bridge, complete with sloped roof and sheltered walkway. The foliage behind the bridge is clear. All I need to complete is at least 700 more pulls in the upper center. Then I can bind the sides of this rug and we are done.
At least so long as I don’t run out of any more colors. 😀
Are you logging the number of hours, days…you’ve devoted to this project?
